Isle of Wight Stays
The Nautilus is our two-bedroom bungalow situated just outside the heart of the seaside town of Cowes. Drawing inspiration from the classic Jules Verne novels ‘20,000 Leagues Under the Sea’ and ‘Around the World in 80 Days’, the property has been appreciatively decorated with industrial and steampunk style pieces. With its own private garden to retreat to after a day of Island adventure, The Nautilus is the perfect escape for both families and couples alike.
Welcome to The Nautilus!
On entering the property from the rear garden you will find yourself in the sun lounge – just off the kitchen. As well as providing an area for dining, there is also plenty of room for coats / boots in the winter or beach stuff when the weather is better!
Step through the sun lounge and kitchen and you’ll find yourself in the lounge area where there is seating for up to four adults on two leather Chesterfield sofas. As you take in the room you’ll notice all the Victorian Steampunk elements – following our Jules Verne theme. If you wish to immerse yourself even further in the adventurous world of Jules Verne, there are two, 100-year-old novels, stored under glass domes, perfect for a relaxing read. If reading isn’t your thing then for a cosy evening or rainy day you’ll also have the use of a Bang Olufsen TV, featuring, Netflix & Amazon Prime. There is also a good selection of other books and games suitable for all ages.
The lounge and kitchen are open plan making the space incredibly spacious and sociable.
Wake in the morning to the aromas of fresh coffee from the Jura coffee machine. In addition, the kitchen is equipped with a Dualit toaster & Kettle, microwave, oven, and gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge & freezer. You have the choice of dining in the cosy conservatory or ‘al-fresco’ in the private garden.
If you can’t completely escape from work whilst on holiday, the breakfast bar doubles up as a workspace, complete with USB ports for charging electronics.
Leaving the lounge, you’ll find two bedrooms and a bathroom at the front of the bungalow.
The larger bedroom at the front; ‘The Captain’s Quarters’ includes a spacious four-poster queen bed, vanity area with hair dryer, hanging space for clothes and freshly laundered towels and bedding.
The smaller second bedroom; ‘The Balloon Room’ has a full-sized bunk bed suitable for two children or young adults. There is also hanging space, a mirror and freshly laundered towels and bedding.
The Nautilus’ bathroom ‘The deep-sea creature’ features an octopus shower head over the bath, toilet, sink and vanity area. Again, it follows the theme with lots of themed decor.
Back through the bungalow, into the sun lounge which leads directly to a spacious private garden with decked dining area. The garden is fully enclosed and has lighting for evening use. Great for a cocktail or two after a busy day sight seeing!
